Saint Paschal Baylon Church

On June 3rd, St Paschal's church celebrated a special event, to commemorate the feast day of Blessed John Baptist Scalabrini and also offer a thanksgiving Mass for the work of the Scalabrini Fathers for the past 50 years in this parish and archdiocese.

A 3:00pm a nice group of Scalabrini Fathers and other priests from the area entered the church to begin the celebration sung by the youth group. The parishioners who attended the Eucharist were happily surprised to see Fr. Joseph Durante and also Deacon Bill Higgins.


Fr. Vincenzo was the main celebrant, and during his homily he stressed the importance of spreading the devotion to Blessed Scalabrini, especially among the immigrants, and praised the outstanding work of so many Scalabrini Fathers in this church.
Right after Mass, the priests and some guests were invited to a magnificent dinner, hosted by the Cortellucci-Fiuza's family. The familiar environment and the great food made the evening really enjoyable.

May the intercession of Blessed Scalabrini strengthen our community of St. Paschal's and renew the spirit and energies of the Scalabrini Missionaries at the service of the people of God here in Toronto.
