Saint Paschal Baylon Church

The month of July began with a happy occasion, that saw a nice group of parishioners embarking in a spiritual journey into the Quebec Province.
After celebrating the 8:30am Mass at St. Paschal's, all the pilgrims received a special blessing to be spiritually prepared to start the trip.After a few hours on the bus, among jokes and moments of prayers, we finally arrived at Montreal where we briefly visited the downtown area and the harbourside.A couple of hours later, we got to the Shrine of Notre Dame du Cap, where our hotel was located. We were a bit exhausted because of the long trip on the bus, but after a nice supper and a bit of rest, we all joined in the candlelight procession which took place at 8:30pm. Thus we concluded our first day.
On Sunday, July 22, after a good breakfast, we left for St. Anne's Shrine in Beaupre.

At our arrival, we immediately went into the Blessed Sacrament Chapel to celebrate Mass. During the celebration we were also joined by another groups of pilgrims coming from Montreal.



After the Eucharist, everyone had free time to visit the shrine as well as the old chapels and churches behind the Basilica, including the beautiful replica of the Scala Santa whose original is in Rome, nearby the Basilica of St. John in Lateran.


In the afternoon, we visited Quebec city, strolling around the narrow streets of the upper town. Many tourists were trying to find their way around and enjoying the beautiful weather, that accompaied troughout our trip.

After a couple of hours, we went back to Notre Dame du Cap to spend another restoring evening, reciting the rosary and participating in the candlelight procession.


On monday morning we reached Montreal to see Notre Dame Basilica and enjoyed the beauty of colours and woodworks of past times, that still generate awe and peace.


Right after we went to St. Joseph's Oratory, where we celebrated the Eucharist and then visited the Basilica and the other beautiful sacred places.
After visiting these two amazing churches, we got to Lasalle, where parishioners from Madre dei Cristiani Church had prepared a nice lunch for all of us. This was the best way to conclude our pilgrimage to the Quebec Province, by enjoying an amazing meal. Wow, these people thought of everything! Even a cake!
